***PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY BEFORE ENTERING INTO A SALE OR RESERVATION***
For those on the waiting list for bucks and does we will go down the list when the desired kids are available and ready to leave. All kids will be vet examined, UTD on CD&T, coccidia treatment (if needed), disbudded and tattooed before leaving the farm. Winter Valley Farm reserves the right to retain any kids of our choosing that are born on our farm. We reserve the right not to do business with anyone for any reason. We cannot guarantee the show career, milk production or mature height of any animal bought as a kid. Please understand that buying a kid especially a doeling is not a guarantee that she will grow up to be your best producer. SALES POLICY: DEPOSITS ARE NON REFUNDABLE! We do not take deposits on kids before they are born and selected by an interested buyer. Any of the goats that have been listed as available will be sold to the first person who puts a deposit down. For those that are interested and have questions or requests for more photos, please be aware that this does not mean that this particular goat is on hold for YOU. We get a lot of inquiries and will do all we can to help you make your decision. But the first person to place a deposit by *CHECK ONLY* of 50% of the sale price secures the right to the desired goat. We believe in first come, first serve. We reserve the right to cancel ANY reservations on kids or mature goats. In this case if you have sent in a deposit you will be refunded.
Once the deposit of 50% of the sale price is received we will hold the kid until it can leave the farm at usually 2 -12 weeks. Sale balance due on the kid must be paid upon pickup at our farm in the form of *CASH ONLY*. Deposits on kids are refundable if the kid suffers a permanent injury or has died before it has left our farm. Deposits cannot be switched from one goat to another, it is to hold the goat or kid the buyer has specified when the deposit was made. Buck kids - all buck kids not up to our standards will be sold as wethers without papers for pets or companion animals. They will need to be banded (wethered) by the new owner when they turn at least 3 - 4 months old. Vaccinations at 8 weeks and a follow up at 11 weeks are recommended and are the responsibility of the buyer if the kid has already gone to it's new home. Until kids are born, you can only view the genetic potential of those kids by seeing the Dam and Sire. Once on the ground, we will evaluate each kid and will then decide if the animal is worthy of carrying our herd name to your herd. Kids will either be dam raised or bottle raised. In most cases bottle kids can leave to go to new owners when they are about 2 to 3 weeks of age where the new owner will continue bottle raising until they are about 8-12 weeks old. The kids are bottle raised with dams colostrum and then KID Milk replacer from MannaPro. The new owner will continue with the KID milk replacer until they are weaned at usually 8-12 weeks. We will provide the bottle/nipple and care guideline before the owner leaves with their new bottle baby. Kids that are being dam raised will stay on the farm until they are fully weaned off their dam around 8-12 weeks. Pickup of any goat whether its a mature goat or kid is expected within 2 weeks of when the deposit was received or 1 week after scheduled pick up. If the goat(s) or kid(s) are not picked up by the 2 week post receiving the deposit or after the 1 week after scheduled pick up date, then there will be an additional charge of $5 a day or $35 a week for the bottle feeding/continued care of the kid(s), or grain/continued care for the mature goat(s) and dam raised kids. This is a case by case situation as some buyers are out of state or perhaps waiting on an additional kid to be born to go with the one reserved. All kids are guaranteed healthy at the time of sale when they leave our farm. Since we cannot control any stress that may occur as a result of leaving our farm and going to a new environment or care and proper feeding and management, we cannot offer further guarantees. Stress is very common in kids and adults of all ages when moved from one place to another. Illness and in rare cases death can occur if the animal is not properly handled or treated by the new owner. We will not be responsible for stress of any kind after the animal leaves our farm. Based on this statement we do NOT offer a refund or return policy for any kid or mature goat that has left our farm. This is for the protection of our other goats and other livestock on our farm. We proudly maintain a clean herd and do annual testing on all animals over the age of 6 months. Seller is in no way responsible or reliable for any vet bills made after said goat(s) have left our farm. We only do coccidia prevention when needed, we do not needlessly treat our goats. We have never had to deal with coccidia in the 4 1/2 years we have raised the Nigerian Dwarfs. If we are ever presented with coccidia in our kids we will treat immediately and continue treatment until they leave to go to new homes where it will then be the new owners responsibility to continue the needed treatments. Since goats are herd animals, they require a "buddy" in order to be happy and healthy. We will not sell one goat by itself unless there are already goats at the new home it is going to. By entering into a purchase or reservation you have agreed to the terms of the sales policy.
Thank you for taking the time to read over our policy! Questions are always welcomed.
